Warranty

There is no warranty term on this page because none has been agreed. It is not an omission and it is not being withheld.

Not settledA warranty is a promise about how something is made, and the things it would be a promise about are still open: whether the frame is steel or aluminium, how thick the coating is, and how many hours of salt spray it stands. Those are fabricator commitments, the tender is what settles them, and the term will be published here with the name of whoever stands behind it.

Until then, nothing is being sold against a warranty that does not exist. If you are deciding now, ask the studio directly and you will get the current state of it rather than a number.

Something arrives damaged or wrong

It is put right. That is not a warranty term, it is the ordinary obligation of selling something, and it does not depend on a tender.

It is built to be repaired

The cushions lift out and the covers come off. A worn cover is a cover, not a module, and that is a design decision already made rather than a promise still to be negotiated.

The grid does not move

Every range is built on the same 800 millimetre square. A piece bought in a later season lines up with one bought now, which is the longest-dated commitment on this site and the one it is most careful about.

Distinct from a warranty, and worth separating: how a material behaves is a fact about the material, not a promise from the studio.

Teak silvers

In sunlight, left alone, it goes to a soft grey. That is the timber doing what teak does, it is reversible with an oil, and it is never a fault.

Solution-dyed acrylic holds its colour

The colour is in the fibre rather than printed on it, which is why it stays in Gulf sun where a piece-dyed weave goes chalky.

A powder coat wants the salt rinsed off

Salt left to sit is what gets under a coating. The care note is three verbs long.

Not settledThe coating film thickness and the salt-spray hours are the figures that would turn the last of those from good practice into a guarantee. Neither has been committed to.

A brand that sells parts is telling the truth about repairability. Cushion covers and feet are meant to be orderable on their own, so a scuff or a tear is a part rather than a piece.

Not settledWhich parts are held, and for how long after a range closes, is a commitment the fabricator makes at tender. It is one of the things the tender is being run to settle rather than an afterthought to it.
